I have seen it firsthand...
For more than 25 years, I have walked beside patients and families in nearly every corner of healthcare: clinics, infusion centers, hospital units, and out in the field. The setting changes, but the human experience doesn't.
I have witnessed the fear and confusion, the questions no one answered, and the grief and heartache that follow. If that sounds like what you are living through now, I recognize it. I have been with people searching for understanding, and for some sense of control in circumstances that felt out of their hands, and that is why I am here.
I believe in this work so deeply that I want my own family to know it, practice it, talk about it, and live it. What I want for them is what I want for you: to engage in your own healthcare, to ask questions, and to ask again when an answer isn’t clear.
This is your life and your healthcare journey. You have a voice, you have choices, and your autonomy matters. Your care team brings expertise and recommendations, but the decisions belong to you.
Be proactive. Ask what to expect and what your options are, take notes, and bring someone with you. When you understand what is happening, you can act on it with confidence.
In my own family, we talk openly about goals of care, quality of life versus quantity of life, and what we would want at the end of life. These conversations are not easy, but they are a gift.
There is no greater privilege than being present with someone at the end of their life, and I have seen how much it matters when their wishes are known. That knowledge is a comfort to the people left behind.
When you understand your values, wishes, and goals, and the people you love understand them too, you can honor each other when the time comes. Everyone deserves dignity in life and in death. That is what I want for my family, and it is what I want for yours.
I’m Gabrielle, a registered nurse, a Christian, a mom, a granny, and an animal lover who is fueled by sunshine. My heart is with the person in the bed and with the people who love them, and I bring both to everything I do.
My background spans critical care, emergency medicine, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and infusion therapy, along with case management and healthcare leadership.
I have a gift for noticing what goes unsaid, and for helping families find the words for it. Today, all of it comes together through Healthcare Confidence, a podcast and a 6-week group coaching program that help you feel informed, prepared, and reassured. I would be honored to help you.
I know this road well, and i would be honored to walk it with you
